自从2000年，台湾人气男子组合F4凭一部偶像剧《流星花园》在华人地区迅速窜红后，偶像剧风潮开始盛行，男子偶像团体也如雨后春笋般涌现——可米小子、5566、Energy、KONE、丸子、元气、183Club、飞轮海、棒棒堂……
　　既然是偶像，也就意味着“寿命”不长，当中已有好几个团体，不是如流星般消失，就是团员换了又换。现在问哪个男生团体最红？答案是飞轮海和棒棒堂！
　　光凭光鲜亮丽的外表当然不能完全掳获粉丝的心，周报在四大偶像组合——F4、5566、飞轮海、棒棒堂相继发片之际，评比这18位帅哥们在音乐上的表现。
　　不知是巧合或是有“发片吉日”之说，棒棒堂和飞轮海的发片日都刚好与前辈F4和5566撞期。四个偶像团体发片日期相近，难免会引起媒体及舆论界的比较。
专辑概念
　　就专辑概念而言，可谓长江后浪推前浪，棒棒堂和飞轮海的专辑概念是四张唱片中较为新鲜而且完整的。

　　棒棒堂的专辑《哪里怕》10首歌曲当中，就有7首属于励志歌，唱出对自己的自信、对未来的期待以及实现梦想的决心，与专辑的名称相辅相成。

　　飞轮海的专辑取为《双面飞轮海》，是希望能展现四人“男孩”和“男人”的一面。词曲有“纯真男孩”（如《新窝》）和“深情男人”（如《为你存在》）之分，只可惜，飞轮海的声线及诠释方式还属于“男孩型”，所以即使一些歌词的内容比较男人，四人仍无法唱出个中的成熟韵味。

　　5566虽希望通过专辑传达他们对生命的关怀及人生的喝彩，但似乎只有为奥运助威的《喝采》和谈论环保课题的《小小小孩》符合专辑概念，其余的都是有关情情爱爱的歌。

　　至于F4，相隔5年难得再聚，专辑歌曲虽唱出了对爱的执着，再度巩固偶像完美形象，但概念一般，不够鲜明。

专辑内容
　　偶像让粉丝为之疯狂的其中一个原因，就是他们梦幻、帅气而深情的形象，所以讨好的情歌一定不可少。一口气听完这四张专辑，真的很惊讶创作人竟可以用N个方式写情歌。

　　将爱情诠释得最精采的要属5566——嘻哈舞曲《漫游中国》，它巧妙地把爱情和中国的历史人物与地方结合，漂亮的歌词也提醒新一代的华人不要忽略中国的传统文化；轻快的《误会大啦》以两个男生爱上同一个女生为故事主线，后来笔锋一转，原来两人是爱上了双胞胎姐妹。另外，爱情也被比喻为月光（《月儿光光》）、《变色龙》和《青鸟》。

　　飞轮海和棒棒堂的专辑收录较多中快板的歌曲，节奏轻快，歌词也较青春甜蜜。也许因为新人的唱功比较生涩，所以公司选了中快板的歌曲，编曲也加入明显的节奏增添朝气，并方便演唱者跟上拍子，同时安排他们大合唱，取长补短。

　　除了F4的专辑走抒情路线，5566、飞轮海和棒棒堂都在专辑里发挥所长，抒情、嘻哈、摇滚、舞曲、饶舌等难不倒他们，包罗万象的曲风让专辑更多元化。飞轮海更是邀师姐S.H.E和师妹刘力扬分别合唱《新窝》和"Ti Amo"，有女声的加持，甜蜜指数加倍。

　　无独有偶，5566、飞轮海和棒棒堂都各有一首注入古典音乐元素的歌曲，新旧融合，为歌曲加分。5566的《误会大啦》编曲加入了莫札特《第40号交响曲》，而棒棒堂的《哪里怕》编曲则融入"The Entertainer"，增添俏皮之感。尤其喜欢飞轮海《心里有数》副歌编曲加入的"Canon in D"，让这首歌洋溢着希望。

歌艺
　　姜还是老的辣，论歌艺，F4和5566略胜一筹。人生的历练和歌唱经验让他们在唱抒情慢歌时注入更多感情，这是在飞轮海和棒棒堂专辑中听不到的。不过，既然能发片，就不是不能唱，而是唱法还有些稚嫩、生硬，有待磨练。

　　歌艺最好的当然是5566，各种曲风拿捏得当，唱功佳又会跳舞（只是有些人觉得他们很俗）。

总结
　　总体而言，不论在专辑概念、内容或包装方面，唱片公司都选对了歌曲，符合了帅哥们的形象。

　　只是F4的专辑情歌过多，显得枯燥乏味； 5566一下为北京《喝彩》，一下又《漫游中国》，不免让人觉得他们已将版图转向中国；棒棒堂新专辑的励志歌有之前收录在EP的歌曲的影子；飞轮海有6首歌曲是偶像剧、广告和电影的主题曲，商业味太重了。
